Purpose: The Institute for Spiritual Leadership and Formation (ISLF) is a Christian-based discipleship and leadership training (including but not limited to preparatory, instructional, guidance) curriculum at the Jack McDowell School for Leadership Development. ISLF seeks to provide training for individuals and teams for the person and practices of a leader. Christian character formation is at the heart of spiritual leadership. The modules offered for character development are rigorous and in-depth. They provide a discovery-based format that centers on the character necessary for spiritual leadership.
The modules offered for competencies’ development are engaging and insightful. Teams and individuals discover research-based practices that move them toward more effective missional impact. Engagement in these modules is underpinned by intercessory prayer and deepened by three coaching sessions (minimum, not maximum) that moves new insights into new behaviors in both individuals and teams.
Mission: The mission of the ISLF is to provide excellent transportable tools that support growth and renewal for Christian leaders.
Vision: The vision of the ISLF is to significantly increase the percentage of Christian leaders who finish well and increase missional impact.
